My simple down draft fire kiln.

After first time with my clam raku kiln. This is my another simple experiment kiln. With 3" of fiber blanket and 2 burners I can fire stoneware within 6 hrs. I've build the chimney behind the kiln. But I think I made the chimney too small that make it's always be the reduction fire. Anyway it's ok for me because anyhow it still very save LPG.

My raku clam kiln.

I studied this kiln plan from www.robertcomptonpottery.com .
I tried to do my own a simple raku kiln and this is my first time to do the kiln by myself.
1" fiber blanket it enough for me to fire up to 1000 c. It works very well, can fire raku within 3 hrs.
